Moving the Company

The company was never in one place for too long.  These pictures show a convoy moving the unit to a new site.  The moving of the unit, took place while the plows were "in the cut", also making their way to the new camp.
Depending on the number of vehicles available to make the move, the transporting of the companies "possessions" would be done in a couple of trips.
When the plows had to be moved from place to place, the 10 ton trucks with low boy trailers were used for that purpose.

At times, the company encountered bridges that were impassable for various reasons, making it necessary to ferry the equipment across rivers.
They were loaded onto barges, or pontoons, as shown in these pictures.
